Netacea named as a Sample Vendor in Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Application Security 2023

Netacea is once again acknowledged under the Bot Management category, which is set to reach full maturity within two years.

Manchester, UK – 3rd August 2023 – Netacea, a leading provider of Bot Management solutions, today announced that it has been once again identified as a Sample Vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security. For the third consecutive year, Netacea was named in the Bot Management category. [1]

A year on from the 2022 Hype Cycle for Application Security, Bot Management has entered the Slope of Enlightenment, with a high benefit rating. We believe this reflects the growing relevance of Bot Management within the application security space, which Gartner lists as being within two years of reaching full maturity.

In the section dedicated to Bot Management, the Gartner Hype Cycle states of Bot Management tools: “They can block unwanted automated activity while ensuring that human users and legitimate bots have access as intended by the business,” later adding as a driver for adoption of such tools: “Leaders’ increasing recognition that bot management crosses multiple use cases and business units makes these capabilities more sought-after.”

The 2023 Gartner report makes recommendations to companies that implement bot management tools that come bundled with their WAAP or CDN platform, and states: “If the chosen bot management solution doesn’t meet your requirements, evaluate stand-alone solutions.”
